Very smart business moves into Aylesbury

Emma Morby of VeriSmart Inventories whose business has expanded into Aylesbury

A growing business that creates inventories for landlords, letting agents and tenants has expanded into Aylesbury.

Emma Morby, licensee for VeriSmart Inventories, is taking advantage of the growing numbers of people renting.

Already her team of eight covers an area including High Wycombe, Hemel Hempstead, Amersham, Thame, Chinnor, Marlow, Henley, Twyford and surrounding areas.

The business uses voice recognition technology and trademarked software to create paper-free inventories when tenants move into a property.

The document is automatically emailed to the agent and new tenant for them both to verify, which helps avoid end-of-tenancy disputes – and it can all be done in 24–48 hours.

Emma’s VeriSmart business also runs the VeriSafe product, an add-on which is designed to keep landlords legal and tenants safe.

The service includes Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) awareness reports, proper smoke and carbon monoxide detector testing as well as Legionella assessments and portable appliance testing.

Emma said: “The rise in the renting market means we have expanded rapidly and now I have a team of very well-trained clerks who compile the inventories and who are all certified to complete everything that VeriSmart offers.

“Moving into a new area is an exciting part of our expansion and already the letting agents in Aylesbury are coming on board.

“The team has grown so quickly because of the rise in renting and I hope to create more jobs in the future.

“Landlords and letting agents are particularly impressed with our VeriSafe product that is designed to keep them legal – and tenants safe.

“For example, when we test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms we don’t just press the button as that only tests the battery not the sensor. We use synthetic gases and real smoke to test the sensor itself.”

Around a quarter of all properties in Aylesbury are rented and that is a number that has grown and is likely to keep growing.
