TURTLE BAY: Deep South helps to launch a major new restaurant.

Deep South Media was asked to plan the PR and VIP launch of a new £750,000 Caribbean restaurant in Southampton’s landmark Guildhall Square.

Our brief was to instigate maximum media coverage for the new Turtle Bay restaurant as well as ensure the launch party attracted more than 300 guests who were the, “movers and shakers of the city.”

Taken on by the restaurant only five weeks before the launch, we wasted no time. A specially tailored guest list was drawn up inviting leaders of local industry, top employers, HR and events co-ordinators, local retailers and businesses, civic and community bosses.

With the launch night coinciding with a historic cricket test match at the Rose Bowl only a few miles away, there were fears that our target clientele might be otherwise engaged. But these proved unfounded. On the night the restaurant had more than 350 guests at the red carpet event and feedback was fantastic.

PR coverage was secured across a range of media both prior to the event and afterwards and included local press and trade, national trade as well as local radio. A very successful reader’s competition was also run in local press.
