Deep South Media's Hectic Summer

Good food and great guests at the opening of the Turtle Bay restaurant

Highlights of Deep South Media's recent activity include:

  • LAUNCHING Turtle Bay in Southampton city centre – the Caribbean restaurant's opening night attracted more than 350 guests, most of whom were from sourced from Deep South Media's extensive contacts in the regional business community.
  • CARRYING out a complex communications audit for a local authority, identifying strengths and weaknesses.
  • LAYING down the intricate comms groundwork for the impending multi-million pound regeneration of a seaside resort, with emphasis on informing all stakeholders.
  • PRODUCING two "compelling" submissions which won a client two separate national awards in relation to green information technology, generating hundreds of thousands of pounds in new business leads.
  • PUBLICISING the launch of a mobile fitness centre aimed at employees of large companies on business parks, which led to a series of new bookings and a surge in website hits.
  • HIGHLIGHTING an acquisition deal in the waste management sector, informing hundreds of business that they had a new service provider. Extensive media coverage reached an estimated 150,000 people in strategically important areas.
  • GENERATING thousands of pounds of new work for a client through referrals following a news release regarding personal injury claims.
  • PROVIDING factual and accurate statements within minutes of media calls relating to various incidents in the public domain.
  • ISSUING 70 news releases to some 50 newspapers from Kent to Cornwall, regarding impending land and property auctions, all of which related to lots in each newspaper's circulation area. They arrived in the inboxes of newsdesks on the same day the auction catalogue was issued, with a large uptake on the stories provided, including the BBC.
  • WRITING a news release, again widely used by the media, on the pre-pack sale of a troubled telecoms firm, explaining in detail and in layman's terms why, on behalf of the administrators, that particular procedure saved creditors from losing even more money.
  • DETAILING why one of the four largest distribution hubs in southern England has a new lease of life, having previously fallen victim to economic woes, with positive national coverage gained for the new owner.
  • REVAMPING a local authority's website, replacing impenetrable council jargon with plain English in order to engage better with council taxpayers.
