Couple secure top prize

Say cheese for the camera! Chris (left) and Robin Brickell with Jess Lutwyche from Wessex Fire & Security

Lucky couple Robin and Chris Brickell showed great vision when they entered a competition at the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show – because they won a CCTV System.

Wessex Fire and Security was offering the prize worth £1,500 at its popular stand where it was showing the public its products and services.

All Robin and Chris did was leave their details and their names were pulled from a hat.

Jess Lutwyche, managing director of the company that is part of the family-owned, Shaftesbury-based Wessex Group, presented them with the cameras.

She said: “The prize was not just the cameras but for one of our professional installers to put them up.

“These are hi-tech cameras which work day and night and you can view the real-time and recorded footage on your phone.

“Our systems are increasingly popular for residential clients as they are extremely reliable and of a very high definition – and now an affordable security measure.

“They deter criminals, give householders peace of mind and should the worst happen they will provide evidence for the police.

“It was an agricultural show aimed at the rural community and security is a growing issue.

“CCTV cameras are encouraged by police and we are selling hundreds of new systems to residential clients each year; and our commercial clients are growing in number even faster.”

Robin, a retired engineer who is from Shaftesbury and lives in Beaufoy Close with wife Chris, said: “I never win an anything.

“My wife won a drill a few years ago, but we entered this not expecting to receive a phone call.

“Now I’m getting older these cameras will make us feel safer and will act as a deterrent.

“It’s a great prize and will be properly installed and we’re very grateful to Wessex Fire and Security.”

The company works across the south of the country and covers all aspects of fire and security.
