Golfers at Parley Golf Centre can now enjoy a half-computer, half-real game thanks to its new, state-of-the-art simulator.
Usually with these devices the golfer swings and the ball hits a canvas sheet upon which its trajectory is displayed through graphics.
At Parley the screen can be moved and the driving range behind revealed so the shot becomes real.
However the fictional course is still displayed nearby on screens and the detailed analytics from the camera watching the contact are still available.
It means PGA Professional and golf coach Andrew Warren who runs the simulator can give even more thorough coaching.
It is believed that Parley has the only Fore Seasons simulator in the region that has a moveable screen allowing the ball to fly its full distance on a driving range.
Andrew said: “The simulator has been really popular over the winter with people playing different courses, enjoying the various games and having some coaching.
“With the weather improving we can now open up the simulator allowing golfers to see the flight of their balls not only on a screen but in reality.
“They can play a round on a variety of famous courses with the added bonus of watching their ball fly its full course.
“It means golfers get the best of both worlds and increasing numbers are using it before they go out onto the Parley course for a full-reality round.
“As well as being a fun thing to do especially when it is raining or dark outside, the technology is incredible and great for coaching.
“The simulator is the best around and is contained within its own room where people can enjoy privacy and even have business meetings.
“With the café bar next door people can enjoy refreshments as they play.
“It’s also great for kids, and getting youth into the sport is something that the owners here are keen to encourage.”
The simulator is part of the £250,000 investment at the centre opposite Bournemouth Airport that will turn it into the finest practice facility in the region.

Notes to editors:
Parley Golf Centre in Dorset is set within a beautiful 800 acre farming estate next to the River Stour close to Bournemouth Airport.
It is home to the 17th century Parley Manor and to Parley Equestrian Centre. Wildlife includes roe deer, badgers, foxes and a pair of rare Grey Partridges. And you are likely to see a family of alpacas roaming around too!
Parley Golf Centre opened in 1991 as a six-hole course, but quickly expanded to nine holes and a 27-bay, floodlit driving range was added.
Currently the site is being transformed into a centre of excellence (which does not affect the course). When completed it will be twice its current size.
The nine-hole course is being rebuilt with carefully configured tees allowing for a round of 18 with a total distance of 5,111 yards.
Indoors will be further putting facilities as well as other innovations to accompany the popular café/bar.
There will be a private room with a driving bay that will include seating and will be available for hire and for business meetings.
Head greenkeeper Ian Noble is assisted by Mark Gregory and John Morey.
Resident professionals include Chris Brook, Marcus Urbye, and Peter Thompson.
