One of Dorset’s fastest-growing national brands is looking to plug the only gap in its south coast coverage – across the Dorchester-Weymouth conurbation.
VeriSmart, which compiles paper-free inventories for landlords and letting agents, has made the area exclusively available for a new licensee.
It has more than 100 people active in the business across England and Wales and with renting on the increase it is a fast-growing sector.
VeriSmart licensees and their clerks use voice recognition technology and the company’s own, unique ‘Smart Verification’ software to create the paper-free inventories.
It is a system that not only protects landlords and tenants, but also saves agents and their clients valuable time and money.
Jonathan Senior, the chairman of VeriSmart which is based in Poole, said: “Since we began allowing licensees to invest and take on a patch of their own, the brand has grown incredibly quickly right across the country.
“We have the entire south coast covered but for the Dorchester-Weymouth area, which is now available.
“We offer full training and permanent support and our licensees carry out a variety of tasks including health and safety assessments, legionella disease assessments, EPC renewal inspection reports and portable appliance testing.
“We also sensor test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms – and not just by pressing the button to see if the battery or circuit is working.
“When a landlord or letting agent needs an inventory for a property, our licensees will be there in under 24 hours and have the inventory ready within another 24 hours, or even less.
“Inventories are a crucial requirement and VeriSmart works because it is quick, simple, effective and protects the tenant and landlord whilst also helping to increase an agent’s profit.

A report last year from accountancy firm PwC predicted that by 2025 more than half of those under 40 will be living in properties owned by private landlords.
By that year, a quarter of all households will be renting privately.
The younger generations who rent will be more used to using technology in their everyday lives – making VeriSmart even more attractive.
