Parley Equestrian Centre in Dorset now has a new arm to the growing business – a dedicated tack shop.

Fine Equine has opened at the centre which has 100 horses, more than 70 of which are in stables.

It is being run by Rachel Lashmar whose daughter Chloe is an Olympic hopeful in the dressage discipline.

The store sells feed, supplements, riding apparel, hats, crops and a full range of equine equipment.

Rachel said: “Parley is a very busy centre with competitions most weekends and lots of people keep their horses there.

“I sensed there was a need for a shop to stock the things that people want and am glad to say that we’re now open and things are going very well.

“Until recently I ran a business selling items and clothing for dogs, but am pleased I made the change to running the tack shop for horses.

“Ever since my daughter Chloe started riding at the age of five the family has been involved with horses.”

Working at the shop will be Rachel and her other daughter Amy, while husband Colin helped set it up.

Daughter Chloe, 16, is training at the famous Sheepcote dressage training centre in Hereford.

The new shop is open from 9.30 to 6pm seven days a week.

Jane Wyatt, who manages Parley Equestrian Centre, said: “The shop will be incredibly useful for our clients who have horses here.

“They sell everything you need and will mean less travelling for people knowing they can find what they want on site.”

Notes to journalists

Parley Equestrian Centre was launched in 2009 and has an excellent reputation amongst dressage riders and show jumpers. The centre is run by equestrian expert Jane Wyatt who has led two horses to victory in the national Horse of the Year competition.

The centre is set within a beautiful 800 acre farming estate next to the River Stour, which is home to the 17th century Parley Manor and to Parley Golf Centre.

Facilities include a competition-level floodlit 60m by 40m Turfloat all-weather arena with mirrors and an irrigation system, British Showjumping jumps and a commentators’ box.  There’s also a 20 metre lunge pen and 72 stables with full or partial livery service available.

The centre is regularly used for both British Showjumping and unaffiliated showjumping competitions.

A second outdoor school acts as a warm up arena ahead of competitions.

There’s also a floodlit lorry park.
