An entrepreneur from Northampton has launched a business that compiles paper-free inventories for the property industry.
Keith Loryman is part of the national brand VeriSmart whose copyrighted system is a market leader.
It allows inventories to be compiled in quick time, benefiting both the letting agent and the tenant.
Using voice recognition technology and the unique software, Keith can drastically speed up the process.
With a growing rental sector in Northamptonshire, Keith hopes to develop the business and create jobs across the county.
VeriSmart works with some of the nation’s biggest brands and as well as saving landlords and letting agents time and money it also protects tenants.
Additionally, Keith provides services such as legionnaire’s disease testing, correct CO and smoke alarm testing and electrical appliance testing.
The inventories flag any health and safety concerns and include photographs. When both tenant and letting agent are happy the watertight process is complete.
Keith, an experienced property professional, said: “I’ve always wanted to work for myself and have been looking for a business that I can build up to give me a secure future.
“Having previously worked for another inventory company, I can see how much better the product and services are that Verismart offer compared to its competitors.
“As a national company with a great reputation it really is a market leader.
“The simplicity and accuracy of the system is the reason for its success and once letting agents experience it they stay with us.
“Many letting agencies use us exclusively for all their inventory work because they know it saves them time and effort.
“Other agents who do their own inventories in house, use us as an outsourcing facility during busy periods or when their team are on holiday or off sick.
“My team and I will always be there to help as a backup service whenever we’re needed.
“I believe in always trying to exceed customers’ expectations and know that with the training I’ve received and the ongoing support from head office, I will be able to offer a first class service to letting agents across the county.”
The English Housing Survey recently reported that of the estimated 22.8 million households in England, 14.3 million or 63 per cent were owner-occupiers – down from the peak of 71 per cent in 2003.
The private rental sector accounts for 20 per cent of English homes and the social rental sector makes up 17 per cent.
Notes to editors:
VeriSmart Inventories was re-branded in 2015 after developing its unique smart verification software that allows for the paper-free inventories to be compiled with speed and accuracy. The company was launched 25 years ago in the Bournemouth and Poole conurbation in Dorset, where it is still headquartered. The new technology allowed the business to adopt a franchise model. Some of its licensees make a substantial six figure income. It operates across England and now Wales.
