Three charities are set to benefit from a major music festival taking place this summer – via ticket sales for Upton House Music Festival in Poole which is held from June 8-10.
And the charities will also have an awareness-raising presence at the three-day festival starring Sir Bryn Terfel, Billy Ocean and, nationally exclusive to Upton House this summer, international superstar Michael Bolton.
The charities are Forest Holme Hospice, Poole Hospital Charity and Project Q – Autumn Trust.
Forest Holme Hospice, based in Seldown Lane near Poole Hospital and Poole Park, provides palliative end of life care for more than 1,000 people across Dorset each year and is reliant on donations. The hospice team is led by three palliative medicine consultants.
Funds raised by Poole Hospital Charity help to pay for additional equipment, finishing touches and ‘extras’ that complement the high quality care provided to patients and their families. Money raised at Upton House Music Festival will be used to enhance services for elderly people services.
Project Q – Autumn Trust is based at Poole Hospital’s Dorset Cancer Care Centre and supports the work of consultant surgeon Professor Tas Qureshi following the donation of a £3.4m state-of-the-art da Vinci XI Robotic System. The sophisticated instrumentation of the robot enables keyhole cancer surgery.
Festival-goers buying tickets through the Upton House Music Festival website are kindly asked to enter one of the following codes: To support Forest Holme enter FH17, for Poole Hospital Charity it’s PHF17 and for Project Q use RCU17. Part of the ticket price will be donated to these charities at no extra cost to the customer by Upton House Music Festival.
The three-night Upton House Music Festival is being held on the beautiful lawns of the idyllic country park from June 8 to 10.
A Classic Spectacular starring Sir Bryn Terfel, Escala, the BSO Concert Orchestra and soloist Lauren Fagan gets it all under way on Thursday, 8 June.
There is also an 80s Extravaganza on Friday, 9 June featuring R&B superstar Billy Ocean, singing sensation Kim Wilde and punk princess Toyah.
International singing superstar Michael Bolton is the Saturday night headliner on June 10, supported by British soul star Kenny Thomas.
Tickets for the event are available now, with various hospitality packages also available. New for 2017’s Upton House Music Festival are two-day and three-day tickets.
