Wessex Fire & Security employs almost 100 staff including 55 engineers and works mainly in a 70 mile radius of its Shaftesbury headquarters.

The company, which has been trading for more than 30 years, offers various services and products including fire detection and alarms, intruder detection and alarms, access control, CCTV, fire extinguishers, fire training and fire suppression systems.

Jess said: “I was obviously delighted to be appointed managing director; it’s a great challenge but also a great opportunity.

“As I have had various roles within Wessex Fire & Security I already know the staff and understand the ethos and values that set us apart.

“It is a family owned business and while we have expanded over the years we still put a great deal of emphasis on our local connections and community.

“Our services and products are of high quality and we have a loyal customer base that proves it.”

Notes to editors:

Wessex Fire and Security was first established in 1984 as a trading division of Wessex Electricals and branded as Wessex Alarms. The name was changed to Wessex Fire & Security in 1998 and it was incorporated as a separate company in the same year. Originally installing burglar alarms, the company diversified into all security systems, such as CCTV and access control. In 1993, the responsibility for installing and maintaining fire alarm systems was transferred from Wessex Electricals to Wessex Alarms. The company, based in Shaftesbury, Dorset, covers all aspects of fire and security and works across the south for commercial and domestic customers.
