Upton House Music Festival headliner Billy Ocean is bringing out a new album this summer.
R&B king Billy is starring at the three-day Dorset festival’s 80s Extravaganza on Friday, 9 June with special guests Kim Wilde and Toyah.
Award-laden Billy’s latest album ‘Here You Are: The Music Of My Life’ is packed with loving reworkings of some of his favourite tracks and heartfelt interpretations of standards and classics.
It is a 15-track single album version of the double hits CD released in this country last year.
The album will be released in the US this summer on 21 July and it is available to pre-order in the UK now on Amazon and iTunes.
Billy said: “It’s a special single-disc album that brings together 10 new performances alongside five of the classic hits that made me of the most popular UK recording artists of the 1980s.
“I am looking forward to party time at Upton House Music Festival to perform my new song ‘Here You Are’, along with all my hits to really get the audience up and dancing.”
The album tracks include ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’, ‘No Woman No Cry’, ‘Cry Me A River’, ‘Having A Party’, ‘It Was A Very Good Year’, ‘These Foolish Things’ and ‘Love Train’.
Trinidad-born Billy’s unforgettable hits include ‘Red Light Spells Danger’, ‘Caribbean Queen’, ‘When the Going Gets Tough’, ‘Suddenly’, ‘Love Really Hurts Without You’ and ‘Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car’.
Joining Billy at Upton will be pop princess Kim Wilde, whose first single release, ‘Kids In America’ in 1981, launched a career which has so far yielded thirteen studio albums and more than 30 singles, bringing sales of more than 20 million records.
Completing the trio of 80s’ superstars is punk icon and actress Toyah, whose 13 top 40 hits included ‘It’s A Mystery’, ‘I Want To Be Free’, and ‘Thunder In The Mountains’.
The three-night festival held at the idyllic Upton Country Park also includes a Classical Spectacular on Thursday, 8 June with world renowned bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, Australian soprano Lauren Fagan, the celebrated BSO Concert Orchestra and exciting all female electric string quarter Escala.
International superstar singer-songwriter Michael Bolton headlines on Saturday, 10 June in his only UK show this summer, with special guest soul man Kenny Thomas.
Tickets for the event are available now, with various hospitality packages available. See the website www.uptonhousemusicfestival.co.uk for details or call 01202 255161.
