An entrepreneur who two years ago launched his business compiling inventories for landlords and letting agents has already recruited a team of five clerks.
Stuart Fuller has moved the centre of his operations to Cambridge where he is best placed to develop VeriSmart Inventories further.
With the huge increase in renting and the number of students in the cathedral city he is anticipating continued strong growth.
VeriSmart Inventories is a national brand and entrepreneurs buy into it to start then grow their own businesses.
Prior to a property being rented the landlord or agent requires an inventory compiling.
Stuart is able to create these accurately and at speed using VeriSmart’s very own trademarked technology and voice recognition system.
The process is completely paper-free and the inventories are automatically emailed to agents and tenants for online verification.
Additionally, and in line with current legislation and the housing health and rating system requirements for landlords and their agents, Stuart and his team provide extra services.
These include legionella risk assessments, proper carbon monoxide (CO) and smoke detector testing (using synthetic substances) and electrical appliance testing.
Stuart, a married father of two, said: “I was an estate manager in London for four years before deciding I wanted to work for myself.
“I didn’t want to travel and also wanted to run my own business. It was a friend who introduced me to VeriSmart.
“I did a great deal of research into the business and decided to invest and I launched in Chelmsford.
“The speed of growth really surprised me and soon I was recruiting clerks to carry out the inventories.
“The area I covered spread across East Anglia and into Cambridgeshire and I decided to relocate to Cambridge because I felt it would develop there quickest.
“So far I have a team of five clerks but with the rental sector growing so quickly I anticipate that will grow rapidly.
“I often provide free inventories for new letting agents and when they see the speed and accuracy of them they stay with me.
“We aim to keep landlords legal and tenants safe and being independent is good for both because they know we have no ulterior motive.”
