Berry Recruitment Group (BRG) has acquired the South East London-based Joy Recruitment – bringing its number of branches to 36.
Founder and owner of Joy Recruitment, Andrea Lach, is to stay on at the agency.
Andrea previously worked at Berry Recruitment and left in 2007 to launch her own business, which is located in West Wickham in North Kent.
It has five staff and specialises in the construction, white collar, commercial and recruitment-to-recruitment sectors.
Around 90 per cent of its placements are permanent, but it is expected to increase its temporary and contract work now it is part of BRG.
Andrea said: “I started working for Tony Berry – now chairman of BRG – 25 years ago and then left to set up Joy Recruitment which was named after my mother Joyce.
“She worked with me and looked after our books right until she died last year at the age of 90.
“I have had other offers for the business but I’ve always kept in touch with Berry and knew I could trust them completely.
“Having backing from a big group and a powerful name in the industry means we have more scope for marketing and ability to grow the branch.
“Our construction desk covers the whole country and we will continue to grow that as well as our teams covering the commercial and white collar sectors.
“We will also aim to add more strings to our bow and develop into new areas of recruitment.
“We have developed a great reputation since we launched and Berry Recruitment is also highly respected.”
