Hamptworth Golf & Country Club is hosting a party night to raise money for Lucy’s Days Out, a charity that provides special times for families living with serious illnesses.

It was named after Lucy Page, from Salisbury, who died aged 12 from cancer.

Her dying wish was to help other children enjoy days out like she had experienced, so she helped set up the charity.

She designed the logo for ‘Lucy’s Days Out’ and approved the website, and since her death in 2010 hundreds of families have been given special memories.

Hamptworth Golf and Country Club, between Salisbury and Southampton in the north of the New Forest, hopes to add to the charity’s funds by hosting a party night.

The event on Saturday May 14 includes a sumptuous dinner with coffee and live music. There will also be a raffle of luxury hampers and the cost is £35 a head.

Hamptworth’s owner, entrepreneur Carl Faulds, said: “One of the great joys of owning Hamptworth is the amount we can help raise for charity.

“I’ve owned the club for a little over a year and so far through supporting charity events we have helped raise over £30,000 for numerous good causes.

“Lucy’s Days Out is a wonderful charity that keeps alive the memory of Lucy whose idea it was and as a parent myself, I truly admire what is being achieved in Lucy’s name.

“We want to raise as much money as possible.”

During her time in remission Lucy enjoyed wonderful holidays and days out through different charities making a ‘horrible life’ fun.

Lucy wanted families living with serious illnesses to enjoy special outings like the ones she had enjoyed with her family.
