Bournemouth’s Avonbourne Sixth Form is celebrating a 100% pass rate and a round of success stories in this year’s A-level results.
Every Avonbourne sixth former who sat their A–level this year achieved an A* to E grade and of those 73% scored the top A* to C grades.
Among the many success stories were Ariel Cai who achieved an A* in Maths, an A in Chinese, a B in Further Maths and a B in Biology; Caroline Proctor who scored three As and a B in Maths, Portuguese, Biology and Chemistry; Daniel Bruce who achieved an A in Maths and Physics and a B in Chemistry; and Lucio Iarmuratii with two As and a B in Maths, Physics and Economics.
CEO of Avonbourne Trust, Debbie Godfrey-Phaure, said: “This is a fantastic set of results, which are down to the dedication and ambition of the students and our teaching staff.
“These are very bright stars of the future and I congratulate them all on their admirable achievements.”
The future is also set bright for the sixth form’s Year 12 students who have achieved an excellent set of AS results; including:
Multi-lingual Elena Manzo who scored three As and two Bs in French, Italian, German and Photography; Hannah Oberhammer with three As in German, Maths and Physics plus two Bs in Italian and Chemistry; and Anna Bright with two As and a B in Geography, Dance and Religious Studies.
Overall 100% achieved A* – E grades in the new reformed AS-levels and 83% in the old-style AS levels.
