Bournemouth’s Lost Paradise has installed two mailboxes and is asking people to post the details of deserving people whose wish they can make true in 2017.
The Balinese-inspired club, bar and restaurant in Exeter Road wants people to nominate those who go out of their way for others, along with a list of gifts which would make that person’s New Year extra special.
Lost Paradise is currently operating the Après Skate Bar in Bournemouth Gardens, in collaboration with That Group.
Alongside the ice rink is a large bar offering mulled wine, hotdogs, steins, hot chocolate and cocktails, with seating and blankets and a log cabin VIP area.
Postboxes will be stationed at Lost Paradise and the Après Skate Bar until January 3.
The Lost Paradise team will choose their winning entry on January 7 and managers will then hit the shops before turning up and surprising the unsuspecting Good Samaritan with their Christmas treats on January 9.
Dave Johnstone of Lost Paradise, said: “One of our passions at Lost Paradise is sharing our experiences with our customers and the postboxes are the perfect opportunity to tell some wonderful community stories and also bring out everyone’s caring and sharing side.
“Most of us know someone who puts others before themselves. Maybe it’s someone who supports the needy? or who volunteers for a local charity?
“Maybe it’s someone who selflessly cares for a loved one or relative? Or even someone who uses their local business to help the less fortunate?
“We can’t wait to read about the people who are nominated and then ‘turn Santa’ and buy them something they have perhaps only dreamed of having before.”
A video of the Lost Paradise team granting the winning wish will be live on the Lost Paradise website: thelostparadise.co.uk from January 9.
