Larkin about with Berry Recruitment

Samantha Larkin, operations manager of Berry Recruitment in Ilford

Berry Recruitment has appointed Samm Larkin as the new operations manager at its growing branch in Ilford.

The experienced recruiter heads a team of five and is keen to grow the branch and diversify.

She has identified SMEs as an area to target, but also wants to increase the branch’s share of the public sector market which it serves.

Currently the team recruits in the office and finance, industrial and hospitality and catering sectors.

Samm, who previously worked at Berry Recruitment Group’s King’s Cross branch and before that with another recruitment firm, said she wants to add value to her clients.

She said: “The branch has a great team and works for a number of local authorities and across the private sector.

“There is a real demand for our services amongst SMEs to which we add a lot of value.

“Often SMEs don’t have the in-house expertise of larger firms and we can provide that for them.

“Like most recruiters we are looking for candidates and are trying to encourage businesses to train staff and up-skill them because like-for-like replacements are not easy to find.

“We are utilising a variety of methods including our recommend a friend bonus scheme to source new candidates.

“There is huge potential in the area and being part of a large group means there is support and assistance from other branches.”

Berry Recruitment Group (BRG) operates from 36 branches across England and Wales and is anticipating a turnover this year of £70m.

Berry Recruitment managing director Lee Gamble said: “Samm is a highly experienced recruiter and has already proven herself at our Kings Cross branch.

“There are many opportunities in Ilford and the surrounding area and we want to see the branch grow and develop, which I’m sure it will.”
