Innovative family firm Barnbrook Systems of Fareham is setting its sights on a national business crown.
The pioneering manufacturer is one of the finalists in the Innovation of the Year category at the prestigious British Small Business Awards.
It has claimed the nomination for its trailblazing BlueCube remote condition monitoring technology – hot on the heels of winning a six-figure contract with aerospace and defence giant Leonardo at July’s Farnborough International Airshow.
Chief technology officer Andrew Barnett said: “It is an honour to be nominated amongst the elite of Britain’s small businesses.
“Small businesses are the engine room of the economy and often do not receive the recognition they deserve, so these awards are a welcome opportunity to give credit where credit is due.
“We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed on the night as it would be the icing on the cake after another superb year although we look forward to celebrating the achievements of all small businesses, win or lose.”
The 35-strong business will be up against such names as Ace Innovation, Azoomee, Fuel 3D and KwikSweep at the inaugural awards on October 20 at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
Speakers at the awards will include SmallBusiness.co.uk editor Ben Lobel, co-founder of GoCardless and CEO of Nested Matt Robinson and host Kate Thornton.
Barnbrook is a designer, developer and manufacturer of electronic and electro-mechanical switching devices for aerospace, defence, maritime, rail and commercial industries worldwide.
Its BlueCube and accompanying iSense software – all designed and manufactured inhouse – can track nearly any function on an asset such as a train or helicopter in real-time to make sure it keeps running efficiently.
The latest award nomination comes after Barnbrook Systems claimed titles in local and national contests.
