A leading businessman who spoke at a STRIDE Dorset Innovation Exchange event was so good he’s been booked to appear at the group’s conference next year.
John Acton has 30 years’ experience working in senior leadership roles within global organisations and gave a talk on ’12 simple steps to grow a brilliant business’.
The STRIDE Dorset’s free event was held in the BattleLab at the Innovation Park in Wool near Dorchester and was attended by businesspeople from across the county.
The business innovation support group launched in Dorset after huge success in Cornwall where it has helped dozens of businesses to prosper.
Deliberately intensive, its Dorset programme started in October and ends in February with a major conference that will have a number of prominent speakers.
Jessica Dennis, who is coordinating the programme, said: “People from businesses across Dorset attended the talk by John and gave amazing feedback.
“He is a highly experienced business professional and proficient in helping others improve their own companies.
“The event included an opportunity to network and we are pleased that John has agreed to be a speaker at our fully-funded conference in February.
“From our experience of delivering innovation conferences in Cornwall, we know it will be of great practical benefit for those who attend and they will be able to hear from a broad range of inspirational speakers.”
John Acton’s credentials are impressive. While MD of the DPD Group he was instrumental in driving five consecutive years of triple market growth in its international business, taking it from a £4bn group to a £9bn group.
And among other achievements John helped set up ‘peer2peer global’ to support business leaders.
