One of the leading cyber security companies in the country has named a new board in preparation for further growth.

C3IA Solutions, headquartered in Poole, Dorset, was founded 15 years ago by Matt Horan and Keith Parsons, both former Royal Signallers.

Despite several approaches to buy the business, Matt and Keith have preferred instead to grow organically.

The business has 43 employees with a further 72 on contract.

C3IA Solutions works across the public and private sectors and was among the first six businesses to be certified by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

The new board members have been announced as Nev Brill, Vicky Lee, Steve Brown, Jim Hawkins and Rupert Irons, with John Botterill appointed managing director.

Matt and Keith remain to provide mentoring and support and to help the business as it develops and grows.

Matt said: “Keith and I have always operated a ‘no sale’ strategy and we’ve carefully grown the business and retained significant operating funds.  allowing us to invest in the future of the business.

“We have recruited some excellent people and over the last five or six years have launched and grown the side of the business that works in the private sector.

“With Keith and I having got so far we turned our attention to the future and to our legacy and decided a new board was required.

“Those appointed have nearly 50 years with the business between them and are leaders in their field.

“We have expertise that few can match and giving the new board members decision-making roles will ensure we take advantage of all the opportunities that present themselves.

“C3IA Solutions is in a really good place and the board will bring new ideas, some younger faces and a determination to grow and employ more staff.

“Cyber Security has thankfully become something business owners really consider now and we’ve been able to help many of them secure their information and systems and give them peace of mind.

“This is one area we anticipate will continue to grow quickly and we want to position ourselves as the ‘go-to’ cyber security company for businesses – large and small.”
