Club member Charmaine Croad and the club professional Chris Tyrell, will tee off at 4am on Friday (June 9) and hope to play at least 150 holes before the sun sets again that day.
Lesley Cooper, Lady Captain of Moors Valley Golf Club, said: “Our members were all very impressed when they learned about the work of Dorset Cancer Care Foundation and Charmaine hit upon the idea of a Dawn til Dusk match as a great way of raising funds for its work.”
She continued: “Our members and their friends and families have been very generous in their sponsorship of the event so far, and some of us will also be taking part in fun competitions on the day to raise even more money.”
Dorset Cancer Care Foundation gives financial assistance to cancer patients living within the county, paying for anything from household bills to specialist equipment, transport costs and short breaks.
One of the charity’s trustees, Anne Rowland said: “We were thrilled to hear about Charmaine and Chris’s efforts on our behalf.
“Every penny they raise will go directly to a Dorset cancer patient. We wish them the best of luck.”
