Fundraisers hit the course in aid of Rowan’s Hospice in Hampshire for the most successful McAndrew Martin charity golf day so far.
Seventy players tackled 18 holes followed by a gala dinner, prizegiving and grand auction at Waterlooville Golf Club.
The event – the third of its kind – attracted players from property related firms across Portsmouth, Hampshire, London and the South.
McAndrew Martin director Ian Lee, who organised the event with fellow director Lee Sergeant, said: “There was a mix of abilities but all of the players threw themselves into the day.
“The event was played in a great spirit with plenty of fun along the way. It is our most successful charity golf day so far with more players than ever before and we hope to beat previous totals once all proceeds are collected and counted.
“Our grateful thanks go to all of the players, sponsors and supporters who made the day such a success.”
Ian added: “Special mention must also go to Rowan’s Hospice and our staff for their support.”
Proceeds will go towards 30-strong McAndrew Martin’s ongoing target of raising £10,000 to refurbish a specialist in-patient room at the hospice in Purbrook, near Portsmouth.
Charity auction prizes included a week in a Spanish villa, a Portsmouth FC shirt and memorabilia, a day at the races and lunch at the Shard. The auction was presided over by Rob Marchant of Clive Emson Auctioneers.
There was also a raffle, business sponsorship of the 18 holes and fun competitions on the course with Sam Marsh from Biscoes law firm and Chris Green from the Property Search Group.
The event has become one of the premier golf days of its kind in the South. It was the first following McAndrew Martin’s restructuring into six divisions: Building Surveying, Project Management and Contract Administration, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture and General Practice.
