Coleman Insurance Brokers has become a ‘Secret Santa’ for Dorset families facing cancer this Christmas.
The company, based in Poole, is the first business to donate to Dorset Cancer Care Foundation’s (DCCF), Secret Santa appeal.
The appeal, which launched this month (December), is asking for donations to enable local families facing cancer to buy festive food and gifts.
CEO Steven Risk said: “We were very proud to support DCCF in a recent, charity Golf Day and so were only too pleased to add our backing to its excellent Secret Santa appeal.”
He added: “As most of us prepare to spend a carefree Christmas with our loved ones, there are hundreds of families in Dorset living under the shadow of cancer.
“Coleman always looks to support incredible local charities like DCCF and we hope other local firms will join us in spreading some joy through the Secret Santa campaign.”
Leslie-May Harrison, who helped found Dorset Cancer Care Foundation (DCCF) in 2012, said: “We are immensely grateful to Steve and everyone at Coleman for their support.
“Christmas is traditionally a happy time, but for families coping with cancer it can often bring extra financial and emotional worries.
“Coleman can be sure that the £350 it has donated will bring some real joy this Christmas – and we hope other firms will support us too.
“We cannot help these families beat cancer, but by making a small donation we can ensure they enjoy some luxuries this Christmas.”
