Watch out – the boys are back in town!

Specialist criminal solicitor Ian Daly has teamed up with former boss Jonathan Morrissey at regional law law firm Ellis Jones. The duo have more than 60 years’ experience in the defence of criminal charges between them.

Ian qualified as a solicitor in 1989 and has always undertaken and specialised in criminal defence work.

He worked for eight years at the Jonathan Morrissey Practice in Bournemouth before leaving in 2016. The same year the specialist criminal and motoring law firm was acquired by Ellis Jones for an undisclosed sum to specialise in private paying criminal work.

Jonathan Morrissey, who during a 33 year career has handled every type of criminal offence from murder, manslaughter and robbery to fraud, drug trafficking and motoring offences, is now a consultant solicitor with the firm.

Ian said the chance to team up again with Jonathan was “too good an opportunity to miss.”

He added: “Between us we have six decades of experience in the defence of criminal changes. I don’t believe that any other local firm can match that.”

Nigel Smith, Managing Partner, said: “Ian is a great catch for Ellis Jones and adds even more firepower to our already exceptionally strong criminal team. We’re very pleased to have secured his services.”
