Ellis Jones backs Bourne Free, Bournemouth’s Pride Festival

Celebration: Neal Errington and Louise Clarke (centre) of Bourne Free mark the Ellis Jones sponsorship with Louise Sutton, Rosemary Drew, Perry Moayedi and Conor Earley of Ellis Jones

Colourful law firm Ellis Jones is sponsoring this weekend’s Pride festival in Bournemouth.

The 14th annual Bourne Free LGBT event is held from Friday July 13 to Sunday July 15.

It includes the popular Saturday parade – Dorset’s largest pride march – together with music, stalls, acts and other events.

Ellis Jones is sponsoring the bandstand and the Lower Gardens which will be at the heart of proceedings.

Last year the law firm launched a specialist LGBT legal advice service covering family law, Wills/inheritance planning, employment and HR advice as well as discrimination.

The full service was the first of its type in the region to be launched by a law firm for the LGBT community.

Ellis Jones has also launched a digital campaign in which it shares blog content providing expert legal advice on LGBT matters.

Nigel Smith, Managing Partner of Ellis Jones said: “The bandstand is where it began with Bourne Free’s first-ever event in 2004 so we’re particularly pleased to support this element of the annual celebration of all the diverse communities that live in Bournemouth and surrounding areas.”

Bourne Free Trustee Neal Errington added: “Bourne Free are absolutely thrilled to have partnered with Ellis Jones Solicitors as our first ever main sponsor of our Lower Gardens event at the bandstand.

“It’s been a delight working with the team and it’s clear we share the same values in promoting equality and diversity in the community.”

Ellis Jones is a regional law firm with more than 160 staff including 15 partners. It has five offices across the south coast – Bournemouth, Canford Cliffs (Poole), Ringwood, Swanage and Wimborne – as well as London and offers a wide range of services to individuals and businesses.

Ellis Jones was named ‘Law Firm of the Year’ at the 2018 Dorset Legal Awards while Nigel Smith received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
