Show time for FAC

The FAC team and some members at the Southern Electronics and Manufacturing show

The Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC) said its members took away leads from the recent Southern Manufacturing and Electronics show that could be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The FAC is a trade association and said the exhibition affirmed the positivity and optimism felt at last year’s Farnborough Air Show and expo.

The consortium has around 200 members working in the aerospace industry and its supply chain, mainly based in the south and south east.

Several were represented at the FAC’s own stand at the trade show and others were among the many hundreds of companies who took their own stand.

Kim Yeomans, Operations Manager for the FAC, said members had come away from the show in Farnborough with many strong leads to follow up.

She said: “It was a hugely successful show with hundreds of businesses all under one roof and all within the manufacturing and electronics sector.

“It is heartening to see so many companies in this sector all doing business together.

“Our members certainly benefited from it and the leads they took away could turn into business worth tens – if not hundreds – of thousands of pounds.

“We will certainly be returning next year and our members have indicated likewise.

“While uncertainty in the political sphere is not ideal, our members and the others in the room seemed determined to carry on and do what they do best – which is business.

“While most of our members are based in the south and south east, we have members across the country and from abroad.

“The aerospace sector is centred in our region and we work tirelessly for our members to support them and the entire sector and its supply chain.”
