A Fareham manufacturing firm has invested in the future by appointing three talented graduates to help drive innovation.
Barnbrook Systems Ltd recruited James Allpress, Joel Hedges and Maria Vaquerizo to work on new projects and bring fresh ideas.
They bring the total number of people at the family-owned business in Fareham Park Road to 45 – its highest headcount to date.
The trio follow hot on the heels of graduate electronic design engineer Joe Stokes, trainee technician Shane Hutton and mechanical engineering masters graduate Jack Wei.
Managing director Tony Barnett said: “It is more important than ever to grasp new opportunities and generate fresh ideas.
“Employing graduates of the calibre of Maria, James and Joel will give us the edge as we look to the future and drive the business forward.
“I am very pleased to welcome them to Barnbrook Systems and I’m sure they will all be tremendous assets to the company.”
James, Maria and Joel will join a newly created Innovation Forum of graduates and young trainees at Barnbrook to generate new ideas.
James, 21, who graduated from Southampton University with a degree in physics, said: “I am working on different projects so it is very varied and interesting.”
Maria, 21, who graduated from the University of Portsmouth in electronic engineering, said: “I have settled well as everyone is very helpful and friendly.”
Joel, 31, who has a MA from the University of Portsmouth in electronics and electrical engineering, added: “We are in the same office area so we can help each other, and we work well together.”
Jack Wei is mentoring James and Barnbrook head of technology Steve Burgess is mentoring Joe, Maria and Joel.
Joe, 29, who has been working on Barnbrook’s award-winning BlueCube, said: “We all get on very well and are able to bounce ideas off each other.”
