Finance on menu at Granby Business Breakfast

Cash is king – that was the message from Lloyds Bank about finance at the latest Granby Business Breakfast in Weymouth.

Jeremy Weekes, who is Lloyds Bank commercial manager for West Dorset, highlighted how businesses can make cashflows work for them.

He stressed that Lloyds was open for business and aimed to help clients grow and boost profits with the bank’s support.

Jeremy, who was accompanied by colleague Stephen Howard, gave the main presentation at the May breakfast hosted by Battens Solicitors at Weymouth Football Club.

Cormac Linehan, from The Pet Experience, spoke in the Meet the Neighbour slot about the growth of his business and its move to new premises at Unit E1 on Link Park, just off the Chickerell Link Road.

He underlined the importance of high-quality products, knowledgeable staff and strong customer service within his business.

Jon Dobson, solicitor-advocate at the Granby office of Battens Solicitors, said: “The subjects of pet nutrition and business invoices don’t often appear side by side at networking events.

“However, both presentations gave food for thought about important points when it comes to developing a business and about the value of excellent products, staff and service.”

Battens Solicitors launched the Granby Business Breakfast in January of this year supported by Weymouth and Portland Chamber of Commerce.

The next Granby Business Breakfast will be at Bennetts Water Gardens in Chickerell on June 30 at 7am.

It will be the first event at the venue – on a Thursday instead of Tuesday – and will include a continental breakfast.

There will again be time for networking at the friendly, informal event as well as speakers and the usual Meet the Neighbour presentation.
