It’s been described as ‘speed dating for funders.’

Owners looking to expand their business – or people planning to start their own venture – are invited to an inaugural Finance in Dorset seminar.

The event, at AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium, is on Thursday March 2 from 8am to 1pm. Places are free but limited.

More than a dozen sources of grant, debt and equity funding as well as business support agencies will be taking part.

Chartered accountants and business advisers PKF Francis Clark, organisers of the seminar, will also be signposting other grant schemes and providing useful pointers to getting ‘investment ready.’

‘Short and sharp’ presentations will allow delegates to initially assess which funding stream or funder best matches their requirements.

There will also be networking opportunities for owners and managers to speak to presenters on a ‘one to one’ basis or make an introduction for a follow-up meeting.

The morning will include targeted sessions depending on the business needs of delegates.

One will be aimed at start-ups/businesses which have been trading for less than two years while the other will be for those trading more than two years.

Martin Aldridge, a Partner at PKF Francis Clark, said: “The seminar is best described as speed dating with funders. It should prove invaluable to both existing businesses and those looking to start their own venture.

“Similar events staged by PKF Francis Clark across the South West have proved very popular with attendance numbers approaching 150 and positive feedback.

“We hope the Finance in Dorset seminar will become a firm fixture in the county’s business calendar and would urge entrepreneurs and start-up businesses to book their places as soon as possible.”
