Free financial advice at drop-in clinic

ADVICE: Robert Newcombe of Blue Sky Financial Planning

A free savings and pensions drop-in clinic is to be held at a thriving coffee lounge and business hub in February.

Financial expert, Robert Newcombe, will be offering free financial advice at The Coffee Lounge in West Moors.

Robert, executive financial adviser at Blue Sky Financial Planning in Poole, will be on hand at the Station Road venue on Tuesday, February 20 from 10am to noon.

No appointment is necessary to attend the drop-in clinic, part of the venue’s policy of using expert partners to make advice more accessible.

Sandra Neild, who runs The Coffee Lounge, said: “It can sometimes be a bit daunting for people to have to ask for advice from professionals.

“Our clinics offer the chance for an initial free consultation in an informal and relaxed atmosphere – with the addition of great coffee.

“We are a not-for-profit community interest company and it is our mission to be a business referral hub for local businesses and the local community alike – the drop-in clinics are very much part of this ethos.”

Robert, who has 26 years’ experience in the financial services industry, specialises in wealth management, investment advice and inheritance tax planning.

He joined Poole-based Blue Sky Financial Planning in January 2017 to help deliver financial planning advice and guidance to a wider variety of people.

Robert said: “We completely buy-in to The Coffee Lounge’s rationale and my attendance is part of our company policy of giving something back to the community. We don’t do this simply to attract new clients, we want great financial advice to be more accessible to all.

“I am just here to answer any questions and offer guidance across the full range of my area of expertise to anyone who has a question – and in West Moors is perhaps somewhere that this is not often possible.”

Sandra opened The Coffee Lounge in 2012, with the aim of providing a ‘Local Epicentre’ for great coffee and accessible professional advisers. Profits are ploughed back into the local area.

It is now well established as a resource centre for local people and businesses, a focal point for help and advice and a referral hub for tradespeople, goods and services.

Three drop-in clinics are held each month. On the first Wednesday of the month is a legal clinic, on the second Thursday it is accountancy/tax and Blue Sky Financial Planning are there every third Tuesday to talk about anything related to planning finances.
