Bournemouth and London based marketing agency Fireworx is helping one of England’s oldest companies achieve growth with a fresh new look.
Fireworx was approached by investment company Gresham House plc to help create a new brand identity, website and marketing communications for its business.
Gresham House plc incorporated in 1857 and its securities are dealt on the AiM of the London Stock Exchange.
In December 2014 Gresham House welcomed a new management team led by Anthony Dalwood, which has raised new capital, supported by established UK institutional investors to transition Gresham House from an Investment Trust with legacy mainly property assets into a specialist asset manager focused on differentiated, alternative and illiquid investment strategies.
Gresham now has an established asset management platform with c£0.254bn of third party assets under management.
In 2015 Gresham House won its first investment mandate, taking over the management of Spark Ventures plc, since rebranded Gresham House Strategic plc (GHS).
GHS is now the core vehicle for the Group’s Strategic Public Equity strategy, investing primarily in UK and European smaller public companies, applying private equity style techniques and due diligence alongside a value investment philosophy to construct a focused portfolio of 10-15 holdings.
In November 2015 Gresham House extended its specialist asset management platform and acquired Aitchesse Ltd, a leading asset manager of UK commercial forestry with c£200m of assets under management, this business will be rebranded Gresham House Forestry.
The company’s strategic development director Mike Phillips, said: “Gresham House plc is synonymous with long term investment experience through the breadth of expertise within its Board, Management team, Investment Committee and Advisory Group, but it is also forward-thinking and vibrant, so our brief to Fireworx was to produce a look which would encapsulate all of these things.
“With the business established in 1857 and following the injection of new growth capital and a new management team we are marrying tradition and heritage with a modern and differentiated approach to investment.”
Daniel Smith, MD of Fireworx said: “We were honoured when Gresham House asked us to create a new look for them.
“The team’s reputation precedes them. But we were excited because we knew we could create something unique and dynamic which would place their customers at the centre of all their communication.”
Using the theme ‘traditional values, modern methods’ Fireworx took images of London’s heritage, history and architecture and juxtaposed them with modern buildings, technology and people.
Parallax scrolling gives the effect of the modern figures in the foreground moving faster than the background and what is achieved is a powerful feeling of the old co-existing beautifully with the new.
This ‘traditional values, modern methods’ theme is now replicated across all the company’s communication platforms.
Gresham’s Mike Phillips said: “What Fireworx created really impressed us and is already gaining very positive feedback from our clients.”
Fireworx was founded in 2007 and is named amongst the top 10 Elite agencies (1-10 staff) in the prestigious Drum Design Census. An accolade judged on financial performance, client satisfaction and peer recommendation.
The agency’s clients include Harveys, McCarthy and Stone, Health-on-Line and iSupplyEnergy.
