Accountants launch free guide to business growth

BUSINESS GROWTH: HWB Associate Director Andrew Kershaw says the new guide 57 Ways To Grow Your Business is packed with ideas, advice and strategies

A Hampshire accountancy firm has published a comprehensive free guide to growing a new business.

The 78-page resource is the brainchild of Southampton-based HWB Chartered Accountants.

Called 57 Ways To Grow Your Business, it is aimed at business owners and decision-makers seeking to expand.

The guide is available on the HWB website, part of the company’s extensive support system for businesses.

This includes a Business Resource Centre which provides advice on key aspects of starting, running and growing a business effectively.

HWB Associate Director, Andrew Kershaw said: “As accountants and business and tax advisers we work closely with a great many companies and organisations across the central south region.

“We see businesses grow and work effectively alongside them on strategic development – and we wanted to give back some of that knowledge and experience to the business community.

“Hence, we have sourced and compiled 57 Ways To Grow Your Business and published it in a downloadable format on our website. I fully recommend it to any business seeking to grow.”

The resource is a carefully collated collection of 57 top business strategy ideas to consider when seeking to expand a new undertaking.

These all emanate from four basic principles – increasing the number of customers, increasing the amount of business those customers do with you, increasing the value of each transaction, and increasing your own effectiveness and efficiency.

The guide covers everything from analysis, targets and budgets to surveys, seminars and social media – and there is room to use it interactively with space for action plans, key performance indicators and how to develop referrals.

According to the latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) report there were 98,895 business creations recorded in the UK from April to June this year, 28% higher than the same period in 2020.
