Director James Bengree marked his tenth anniversary at a growing South firm by welcoming the next generation of employees.
He celebrated ten years at leading multi-disciplinary practice McAndrew Martin where he has risen from graduate trainee to director of architecture.
James was presented with engraved crystal tumblers at a lunchtime reception in recognition of his long service and to officially welcome new recruits.
McAndrew Martin, based at the Acorn Business Centre in Portsmouth with offices in London, is continuing to expand after 10 per cent growth last year.
James said: “When I first started at McAndrew Martin we had 10 employees and now we have about 40.
“Because McAndrew Martin is a multi-disciplinary firm, it means you can become a very well-rounded professional with experience working in different sectors.
“It is a great place to work where you gain good job satisfaction. I’m looking forward to helping shape the next generation of professionals coming through the firm.
“My advice to them is to work hard and seize all of the opportunities which come their way.”
James graduated in architecture and began his career at McAndrew Martin as a building surveyor before developing the architecture department and rising to director.
McAndrew Martin sponsored James through a Masters degree in Historic Building Conservation.
His landmark anniversary came as two new architectural recruits joined the firm. They are Richard Knapp and Dan Harris.
They join engineering trainee Jesus Piedra, University of Portsmouth industry year placement student Mandie Le and trainee chartered surveyor Richard Hookaway as the latest recruits.
Managing director Bill McAndrew said: “Congratulations to James on reaching this milestone.
“He has been instrumental in the ongoing growth and success of the business over the past decade.
“A warm welcome goes to all of our new people and we’re confident that they will also make a major contribution to the success of the business in the future too.”
