A team of property experts tamed the Salisbury Half Marathon as the event returned to the city’s streets in style.
Property consultancy Myddelton and Major sponsored the 13.1 mile race and also entered its own team of five runners.
Partner Peter Sammons claimed the in-house bragging rights with a time of one hour, 31 minutes and 56 seconds, finishing 52nd overall and twentieth in the male 30-39 age classification.
Fellow Partner Dean Speer (1:55:59), Residential Lettings Administrator Fiona Thatcher (2:15:01), Commercial Negotiator Murray Waldron (1:59:02) and Accounts Administrator Liz Roberts (1:53:27) also stopped the clock with highly respectable times.
The competition attracted 603 entrants and was won by City of Salisbury Athletic and Running Club’s Aaron Wilson in one hour, 14 minutes and 54 seconds.
Myddelton and Major Senior Partner Philip Holford said: “It was fantastic to see the Salisbury Half Marathon back in action this year.
“It has always been one of the city’s finest events and as a firm we are delighted to have played our part in its return. Congratulations to everyone that participated.”
Race organisers Total Buzz Events devised a quicker, flatter course for the 2016 race, the 19th in its history, which incorporated a new city centre start in New Canal. Salisbury’s half marathon was last held in 2014.
Runners then began a two-lap route, passing through Bemerton, Quidhampton, Netherhampton and Harnham before the finish in Cathedral Close.
Partner charities for the race, which began after a Zumba workout from instructor Kirstie Pugh, were Help for Heroes and Salisbury District Hospital’s Stars Appeal.
