Recruitment specialists at TeamJobs have taken on a new role – as a ‘Secret Santa’ for Dorset families facing cancer this Christmas.
The award-winning Bournemouth and Poole company is among a host of local businesses which have donated to Dorset Cancer Care Foundation’s (DCCF), Secret Santa appeal.
The appeal, which launched this month (December), is asking for donations to enable local families facing cancer to buy festive food and gifts.
TeamJobs donated £150 to the appeal, and staff at its Bournemouth and Poole offices also donated the proceeds of their annual Christmas jumper day to the charity.
TeamJobs MD Jason Gault, said: “We are very proud to have supported DCCF on several occasions in the past couple of years and jumped at the chance to support Secret Santa.”
He continued: “DCCF does a wonderful job in helping families who are struggling financially because of cancer.
“Sadly, while most of us are looking forward to a happy and healthy Christmas with our families, there are hundreds of families here in Dorset coping with the enormity of cancer and the financial burdens it can cause.
“It’s a privilege to know that by being a Secret Santa we might be bringing a little joy to one such family this Christmas time.”
Leslie-May Harrison, who helped found Dorset Cancer Care Foundation (DCCF) in 2012, said: “I had the pleasure of meeting the young, staff team at the TeamJobs Poole office and was bowled over by both their kindness and generosity
“Their donation, along with those from companies including Coleman Insurance Brokers, the Marsham Court Hotel and the DWP Partnership, will make a real difference to Dorset families coping with cancer this Christmas.”
