New Ringwood Carnival Queen Morgan Long has officially fired the starting pistol for this year’s event.
The 16-year-old began a busy few weeks by attending a photocall with key sponsor Ellis Jones Solicitors at its Monmouth Court office.
“I’m really looking forward to the carnival and especially the procession. It’s great to be a part of it,” said Morgan.
It’s now four weeks before the biggest event in Ringwood’s annual calendar.
Carnival day is on Saturday September 16 and includes an afternoon parade and an evening procession.
Events on Carvers Playing Field include a fun fair and a grand firework display evening finale.
Morgan, who was accompanied by attendant Cassidy Smith, met Ellis Jones’ Managing Partner Nigel Smith.
Also present was Ringwood Carnival President Michael Lingam-Willgoss who thanked Ellis Jones, and other carnival sponsors, for their “fantastic support.”
He added: “Ringwood Carnival is a truly great community event. By supporting us so generously local firms such as Ellis Jones really cement their position at the heart of the community.”
The first Ringwood Carnival was held in 1929 with the event held every year since 1950.
Mr Smith said Ellis Jones was “pleased and proud” to support this year’s event.
“It really sets the standard for carnivals and we’re very proud to play our part in its continuing success,” he said.
