Staff from a Dorset law firm went the extra mile for children’s hospice Julia’s House.
A 14-strong team from Ellis Jones Solicitors took part in the Julia’s House Jurassic Coast Trek.
They opted for the shorter 13-mile walk starting at Worth Matravers Village Hall and ending at Harry Warren House in Studland.
Walkers doing the full coast trek covered a total distance of 26 miles.
All money raised went to Julia’s House which was founded 15 years ago in order to develop a support network for families struggling to care for a life-limited child without any help or respite.
The charity has since opened children’s hospices in Corfe Mullen, Dorset, and Wiltshire. It continues to provide practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or threatening condition.
Ellis Jones is raising funds for Julia’s House during May, June and July on its monthly Ellis Jones Day. The total raised at the end of the quarter will be matched by the firm. Half of each trekker’s entrance fee was also covered by Ellis Jones.
Nigel Smith, Managing Partner, said: “We pride ourselves on being at the heart of the community. We value our local charities and always try to give something back, wherever possible.
“The Julia’s House Jurassic Coast Trek provided the perfect opportunity to enjoy the stunning views of the Dorset coastline, including Old Harry Rocks, while raising money for a fantastic cause.”
