Talented performers from a Bournemouth stage school are set to fill the hall with the sound of music when they tackle a well-known gospel song.
The choir from LeAF Studio Stage and Screen have been busy rehearsing its version of Joyful Joyful – the song made famous by Lauryn Hill in Sister Act 2.
And on Wednesday November 23 they will take to the stage at the Bournemouth Pavilion to perform it as part of the Bournemouth Schools’ Music Association’s Carol Festival.
Tracey Dulston, Assistant Vice Principal of LeAF Stage & Screen, said: “Preparing for this performance has been a fantastic experience for our students.
“Building up to giving a professional performance in such a top venue has really enhanced their performing arts training.”
The choir’s song, Joyful Joyful, was selected by LeAF Studio vocal coach Karl Davies to showcase the students’ talent and vocal ability.
And the students have been working with Karl weekly on the vocal arrangement for the piece in their lessons.
In addition they have been working on a special choreography with dance teachers Geoff Lake and Billie Aplin.
LeAF Studio Principal, Nadine Lapskas, added: “I’ve been privileged to hear the rehearsals and the students’ performance is spine tingling.
“The audience of the carol festival are in for a real treat.”
