A global superyacht specialist which provides advanced communications and internet access for multi-million pound superyachts has relocated in Hampshire.
YachtProjects International is set to expand after moving its UK base to Solent Refit’s 10,000 sq m site at Hythe on Southampton Water.
Solent Refit, which has built its reputation on maintaining and refitting classic and modern superyachts, has welcomed the move as it sees a synergy between both companies and what they have to offer.
YachtProjects International has a portfolio of products and skills – including hi-tech communication solutions to keep superyachts, their crews and passengers connected.
As well as access to the internet, the bespoke IT systems provide full Global Maritime Distress and Safety (GMDSS) services and links with land-based marine authorities.
Its solutions also include 24/7 remote support networks, back-up processes, multiple connectivity such as 3G, 4G and wireless, security safeguards and data transfer capabilities.

“With our recently secured 30 year lease for the shipyard and, as the South of England’s premier facility for refit and repair of super yachts and commercial vessels, we see a sustained growth period in the next few years.”
YachtProjects International’s US operation is based at Ft Lauderdale in Florida with the UK operation now at Solent Refit. It is also soon to open offices in New Zealand and Australia.
Pippa Nicholas, owner of YachtProjects International, said: “Solent Refit has an amazing location on the South Coast of England which suits our UK operation.
