SURVEYORS ON COURSE: Property professionals are teeing off in McAndrew Martin’s third charity golf day at Waterlooville Golf Club in April

A Hampshire firm of chartered surveyors is teeing up its most ambitious charity golf day so far in aid of hospice care.

Portsmouth-based McAndrew Martin Ltd expects upto 100 players – including clients, suppliers and business associates – to line up for the fundraiser at Waterlooville Golf Club.

It is being held on Thursday April 27 with proceeds in aid of Rowan’s Hospice, at Purbook, near Waterlooville.

Organisers from 33-strong McAndrew Martin aim to make the popular all-day event the most successful so far.

Director Ian Lee said: “We have raised £8,650 from our previous two McAndrew Martin Ltd charity golf days.

“The event has quickly become one of the premier charity golf days in the region and we hope this April’s will be the best so far.

“As one of the leading property surveying practices in London and the South, we believe it is important to support the community and especially such a worthy cause as Rowan’s Hospice.”

The day at the Waterlooville Golf Club at Cowplain comprises 18 holes of golf with competitions and a raffle followed by a two-course dinner, prize giving and charity auction.

Rob Marchant, auctioneer with Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers, will preside over the charity auction in the evening.

Ian added: “Entries are open for teams and we are also seeking sponsorship of holes and prizes for a raffle and charity auction to help raise as much money as possible for this incredibly valuable charity.”

Tickets are £49.50 per person with teams of four welcome.

Rowan’s Hospice needs to raise £5m a year to provide its care services for people with life-limiting illnesses in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.

In 2015-2016, the hospice cared for 375 inpatients, providing 5,019 days of care. It also provided specialised care for 396 patients in their own homes.

McAndrew Martin has raised more than £10,000 for charity over the past three years, including Help for Heroes and the Ickle Pickles charity for premature and seriously ill babies.

McAndrew Martin holds the event as it enters the next phase of its growth with a restructuring into six divisions: building surveying, project management and contract administration, mechanical and electrical engineering, structural engineering, architecture and general practice.
