Blandford CC is presented with trophy for its community work

The Jack Douch award for cricket in the community has been presented to the Blandford Cricket Club chairman Dave Abbott. The trophy is given in memory of the late Jack Douch whose family company sponsored cricket in the county for more than a decade through its Dorset Funeral Plan.

BRG’s MD helps raise £5,000

The Managing Director of the national Berry Recruitment Group (BRG) and two staff cycled more than 100 miles to raise money for the Royal Marsden Hospital. Chris Chown, Beth Sarson and Jade Smith chose the cancer charity because it was where Tony Berry, BRG’s founder and chairman, received treatment before he passed away last year.

C3IA hit the right spot with Dexters

A youth football team has thanked its sponsors after the funding led to an entire new league being created. Cyber-security company C3IA Solutions backed Dexter Sports’ Under 11 Lions, who are based at Canford Heath in Poole. The support helped them train indoors through the winter reach the county cup final which had to be abandoned due to Covid-19 and the lockdown. However, on the back of the investment coach Greg Partridge was able to launch an indoor futsal league – the only FA Youth affiliated futsal league in the county.

Broadstone CC on the front foot

Broadstone Cricket Club’s first XI picked up the team of the month award for July – after four straight wins. The team pushed themselves into third spot in the Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League.

Leading cyber security business C3IA Solutions is hitting the road after sponsoring the Royal Corps of Signals Road Cycling Team. Based at Blandford Camp in Dorset, the super-fit soldiers compete in military and civilian competitions both here and abroad.
