FAC host a crackling hog roast

The fast-growing Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC) brought dozens of members together over a hog roast – and it resulted in deals being done.

More social events are being added to FAC’s calendar so that business are better able to meet and interact in a relaxed atmosphere.

Those from the aerospace, aviation and defence sectors, as well as their supply chains, attended the roast at Farnborough’s Holiday Inn.

Forrest Brown, the specialist innovation and tax advisers, saw an innovative opportunity to sponsor the event.

FAC has just had hugely successful visits to Ohio in the US and to Paris, where millions of pounds worth of business was generated.

New members – including several from the US – have recently joined the business-winning trade organisation.

Alan Fisher, chief executive officer, said: “While our long-standing events remain our main focus, we decided that social events are also of importance.

“It’s amazing what business can be generated over a bite to eat and a drink, when the atmosphere is relaxed.

“It was also good to be able to chat to our members to find out what they want from us and how we can help them.

“I am pleased to say that the outlook was extremely positive from those I spoke to and many are actively looking to expand their businesses and add to their workforces.

“We can expect increased investment in the aerospace sector in the south and south-east region, which is the home of the UK’s aerospace industry.

“Our recent trips to the US and Paris have been extremely successful and our wide and varied membership is benefitting from them.”
