A Hampshire building services company has installed cutting-edge air conditioning and heating technology for Europe’s number one manufacturer of painting and decorating tool solutions.

Closewood Ltd successfully fitted the ‘next generation’ Hybrid Variable Refrigerant Flow (HVRF) system at Ciret Ltd.

The new installation will help Ciret Ltd part of the Storch-Ciret group, Europe’s number one manufacturer of painting and decorating tools, cut energy costs at its offices and 105,000 sq ft warehouse in Havant.

Closewood Ltd, which specialises in air conditioning, electrical and mechanical services, has already fitted the new Mitsubishi Electric City Multi HVRF system at its own offices on the Downley Business Park, also in Havant.

Managing director Dean Kirby said: “This system is one of the most advanced on the market today.

“It can simultaneously heat and cool different parts of the building, allowing flexibility throughout the space.

“We also installed a new fresh air system to ensure that the building met building regulations and provided fresh air into rooms without windows or with limited ventilation, built two platforms to accommodate plant and installed 400 metres of pipework along with centralised and local control for the new system.

“We have also instigated remote monitoring of the system with Mitsubishi to allow data collection for analysis which will provided information on the system operation at Ciret Ltd in Fulflood Road.

“As a hybrid system using water and much lower amounts of refrigerant, there is no need for costly leak detection measures if required.

“As well as increased efficiency, lower energy costs and greater performance, the new system will also allow Ciret to meet current and future regulations governing refrigerants and energy use.”

Dean added: “It was good to see two local firms working together on this project.

“Ciret are just five minutes from our own offices and all of their staff have been brilliant throughout.”

Closewood has worked at the Shard and the Olympic Park in London and more recently a 256 bed hotel in Aldgate and a LED light replacement for a four-storey office building in Southampton.

With a warehouse capacity of 9,500 pallets, Ciret Ltd supplies major national chains as well as smaller hardware retailers with brands including ROTA!, Kana, Masq and Prep.

Managing Director Mark Carpenter said: “Our business is growing substantially

“With new regulations governing air conditioning and heating on the horizon, this new system future proofs our business whilst also making significant cost savings.

“It allows us to grow in an environmentally sound way and create a more pleasant working environment for our present and future employees.”

He added: “The decommissioning of the old system and the implementation of the new system has been absolutely seamless having minimal disruption to our business operation.”

Closewood recently became one of only 23 firms nationwide to be awarded Diamond Partner status by Mitsubishi Electric for the quality of its service. It is already a Mitsubishi Electric Business Solutions Partner and a Daikin D1+ Approved Installer.

The company, celebrating its 22nd anniversary this year, has also recently expanded with three new members of staff

In another success, its finance director Debbie Kingston recently graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a Business Studies degree.
