A South West accountancy firm is continuing to build international links after helping to organise a successful trade mission to China.

Two partners from PKF Francis Clark, which has eight offices across the South and South West, gave presentations on doing business in the UK to an audience of 140 Chinese businesses.

Andrew Killick, Head of Corporate Finance, and Martin Aldridge, Business Services Partner, were accompanied by Yanwen Huang from PKF Francis Clark’s Poole office who helped with language and cultural translation.

They were joined by teams from across the globe belonging to the PKF international accountancy network including the USA, Australia, Germany, Italy, Pakistan, Kenya, Malaysia and Thailand. The trade mission was hosted by Chinese firm PKF ZXC.

PKF Francis Clark joined the PKF network in April 2016 and has rapidly become one of its most active members.

The firm has seen increasing engagement with international trade from the majority of its client base, either through exporting or investing in companies around the world.

The Corporate Finance team has undertaken deals involving businesses from Japan to the USA and Norway to Australia, including acting for companies based in the USA, throughout Europe and as far afield as South Korea.

Andrew Killick said: “Joining the PKF network has provided access to quality accountancy and advisory firms in over 150 countries around the world, providing our clients with detailed local knowledge to support their international expansion plans. We are also able to find both buyers and targets for our transaction focused clients.”

Martin Aldridge added, “China is becoming an increasingly important market for our clients. The recent Chinese initiative known as One Belt One Road to rebuild the silk routes, including road, rail and port infrastructure investments, confirms their long term intention to ensure China is one of the best connected regions in the world.”

PKF Francis Clark recently launched its China desk to provide help to both UK and Chinese businesses looking to trade or invest in each other’s territories. PKF Francis Clark has also updated the PKF Doing Business in the UK guide that will be released shortly.

The PKF firms in the UK, including PKF Francis Clark, were recently shown to be the fastest growing network in the Top 20 by Accountancy Age’s analysis of the largest UK accountancy firms.
