And the answer is…

QUIZTASTIC: The DSM team: Cliff Moore, Scott Sinclair, Kay Sinclair, Rachel Read, Nigel Smith of sponsors Ellis Jones, and Andrew Diprose

In the end there was just a point in it…

If only we had known the year second class postage was introduced, the number of times Charles Darwin used the word ‘evolution’ in his On The Origin Of Species or who carried the Olympic torch through Albert Square in EastEnders and the outcome would have been different.

Thus the Deep South Media team came agonisingly close to winning the Life Education Wessex Big Quiz champions title for the third year in succession.

In an extremely closely-fought battle we had to settle for second place to worthy winners, the Disruptors, from AB Precision, of Fleets Lane, Poole.

However, the real winners from the annual quiz held at AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium was the charity Life Education Wessex which benefited to the tune of £9,317.

Our Deep South team of Andrew Diprose, Scott Sinclair, Rachel Read, Debbie Moore, Kay Sinclair and Cliff Moore had an enjoyable evening and we were proud to have contributed to an excellent total for the charity.

Life Education Wessex & Thames Valley is a specialist charity provider of high quality health and drug prevention education to more than 70,000 children in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Somerset, helping to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to lead healthier and happier.

In three years the DSM team – called South Deep – has now been beaten by just one other team from a total of around 100 taking part.

Thinking caps on for next year…
